Oh Jill, this article is so chock full of the wisdom you've shared so generously for years. I so appreciate you and your crazy ways of making what you know so memorable for us who need to absorb it! Love and miss you!

Oh yes. Perfectionism can absolutely keep you from starting a project, finishing them, and sharing what you've created. I see so many people (especially women) who drop creativity because of other people's opinions, but also because of what they think about their own ability. Perfection is an illusion most of us strive for, but we can't ever reach.

If there were a poster--or a series of posters--with art as whimsical as the piece that introduces this post, and any--or all--of these quotes from it--

Between the idea and the reality . . . falls the shadow.
Perfectionism is creativity’s spiteful and wicked step-sister.
Perfectionism is a party-pooper.
Claim your audacity.
One of the biggest joys of making something is to appreciate its reflection of our divine ability to bring something new into existence.
Enjoy the process just 5% more, no matter the result.

--I would hang it in my office this afternoon. Wonderfully inspiring--thank you.

Jill Badonsky

I'll see what i can do. thank you, Lori.

Looking forward to tomorrow's call to address my creative block. Sometimes, I am astonished at the distractions I allow to come between me and my project...even knowing that it does not have to be close to perfect. The joy of taking some action and creating every day would be incredible.
