I want your cleverness in my 2014 calendar. My FB friends are the cleverestest people.
My annual desk calendar (see the 2013 below) has my art in a CD sized art print for each month and comes with a little stand. For 2014 there are going to be drawings that go along with what I call Yokoisms. Yoko Ono wrote a book called Grapefruit and in it she has little off-the wall directives. Examples from her book:
Cloud Piece:
Imagine the clouds dripping.
Dig a hole in your garden to
put them in.
Line Piece
Draw a line with yourself.
Go on drawing until you disappear.
One of the exercises at my Taos retreat last July was to write some of our own Yokoisms. They were great so I decided I would make my next little desk calendar have an illustration for each month of these Yokoisms. Not everyone volunteered hers so I have two months open: April and August.
Submit your Yokoisms on my FB wall under the related post. Whoever gets the most likes and at the same time has a directive THAT LENDS ITSELF TO AN ILLUSTRATION will be chosen, with your permission and credit to you, in the 2014 calendar. You will get a free copy of the calendar as well.
Example of pieces going
into the calendar
April:
save daylight in a jar
(place holes in the lid)
keep it under your sink
& when you feel drained
take it out and wave it
Jill
October form Pat: Collect fallen leaves. Sort them by height & ring tone.
Mary:
Find an apple treecut it down
leave the apples.
