What
if all the different places where you lived could get together and talk
about you?
What would they say?
Would place #4 be surprised to hear
what you're doing now that you're living in place #16?
Would place #7
comment on what you ended doing the person you were dating in Place #5?
Would all of them talk about one habit you've had living in them all?
Or if that's too esoteric, then write about the place you lived that has the best secrets about you.
604 N.E. 4th Ave Gainesville Tells by Jill
She has a wedding dress in the attic that she never wore.
It's in a box that roaches crawl over.
She's learning to juggle on a wood floor.
When she misses a ball,
her neighbor below thinks it's someone knocking on the door.
She listens to Prairie Home Companion every Saturday at 5.
She sleeps late on Sundays until 10.
She buys Guava pastries and chocolate croissants at the Cuban Bakery down the street.
She stands on a chair when mice run through her kitchen.
And builds a fire in the fireplace in the winter.
She was a campfire girl.
Her Siamese cat climbs out the window
And wanders around the roof until he's out of reach.
She coaxes him back with a plastic straw.
She courts men and makes them laugh,
Then she doesn't answer their phone calls.
She's only 28.
She cries sometimes but not so her neighbors can hear.
Most of the time she seems amused.
And she's been heard singing songs... frequently.
She knows the words by heart.
Hello, Jill,
I found the address in the title of your piece, "604 N.E. 4th Ave Gainesville Tells", caused me to stop. That could be an address in my town, G'ville, FL! In fact, if so, it would be near me in an area we call the Duckpond Neighborhood. It is a beautiful area!
I so enjoy reading all the goodies that make me feel better. LOL Thank you for that.
