The Awe-manac: A Daily Dose of Wonder

In The Awe-manac, there is a place for you to give a name to each day. Here are partial directions for naming a day:

Possible Effects: Tapping into the healing effects of amusement; adding enhanced meaning, novelty and importance to the day, exercising the imagination muscles.

Without much thought or analysis, quickly give the day a name, a title, or a caption – randomly or methodically, imperfectly or precisely - concern as to whether it makes sense is optional. Naming a day exercises your imagination a bit and makes the day a little more special. Skip it if it annoys you. But if you decide to do it, have fun with it. I have named days things like Mac, The Day That Ate My Brain, “Bleh!”, Pay Attention to Blue Things Day, Dayo - Da-a-ay-o – Daylight Come and Me Wanna Buy Shoes … names like that. You will have fun reviewing previously named days when you go back through your Awe-manac. Your names do not have to all be perky. “Bleh!” was just one of those blah days that when I called it Bleh, it was magically a little less Blah-ful - sort of like the concept in the book The Road Less Traveled where when you realize that life is difficult, somehow it makes it easier (does not apply to calculus).
You may have noticed that The Awe-manac has not noted your personal special occasions. We just did not have time to find out who would be reading the book and what stuff you celebrated so here is your chance to fill in the Name Today blank space with birthdays, anniversaries, made-up holidays, and the date that your car rolled down the driveway when you forgot to put the emergency brake on.
